Muffins are for breakfast, coffee break, and snack. Don’t settle for flat muffins. It’s the top that’s best, right?
Wild Maine Blueberry – 95% of the world’s wild blueberries grow in Maine. Wild Maine blueberries are known around the world for their smaller size, darker color, and distinct blueberry flavor. Whole berries fill the muffins, mashed berries spread the flavor and color throughout.
Apple Pie Muffins – This muffin is so popular that the wild apples we grow here on the homestead aren’t enough! We leave all but the best apples for the wildlife, and when we’ve used all we grow here, we buy more. And boy do we buy more. Most of our apples are grown in a family-owned orchard in Ellsworth. We buy them by the pickup truck load. Seriously. We use a lot of apples! Topped with Turbinado and my personal blend of apple pie spice
Banana Bread Muffins – Full of bananas, moist, hearty and filling. I’m a little fussy about the bananas. Obviously they don’t grow in Maine so I have to pick and choose carefully. Ripe bananas are sweet but too-ripe bananas aren’t better.
Lemon Poppy Seed – Sweet, savory and a lemony, without the lemon being overpowering. Icing gives this muffin a bit of sweetness. A classic.
Carrot Cake – Carrots grown on the homestead are used in this old fashioned carrot cake muffin. Hardy, filling, satisfying, and like Lemon Poppy Seed, a little sweetness from drizzled icing.
